Feature Request Tracker (Free Google Sheets Template)

Before you adopt a dedicated tool, this spreadsheet keeps your feature requests in one honest place — instead of scattered across DMs, tickets, and memory.

What’s inside

  • A request log — title, description, who asked, and the date
  • A vote tally column so the loudest signal floats to the top
  • A status column — Open, Planned, In progress, Shipped — to mirror a roadmap
  • A source column so you can see whether requests come from sales, support, or users

How to use it

  1. Make a copy and add one row per request as it comes in.
  2. Increment the vote count whenever someone else asks for the same thing — and merge duplicates ruthlessly.
  3. Sort by votes during a weekly triage and move the top items into your build queue.
  4. When you ship, set the status to Shipped and tell the people who asked.

When to graduate

A spreadsheet can’t vote, comment, or notify the people who asked. The moment you’re copy-pasting status updates into emails, it’s time for a real board.

FeatureWish does everything this template tracks — and the parts a spreadsheet can’t: public voting, threaded comments, an auto-generated roadmap, and emails to voters when a request ships. Try FeatureWish free →
