FeatureWish vs Featurebase: same loop, no per-seat bill
Featurebase has a great free tier — until you need a paid feature, then it's $29–$99 per seat. FeatureWish keeps your whole team free. Here's the honest, side-by-side breakdown, including where Featurebase wins.
Pricing & features last reviewed July 2026.
Featurebase is one of the best Canny alternatives out there — modern UI, a genuinely generous free tier, and unlike Canny it doesn’t charge by tracked users. If you’re comparing it to FeatureWish, you’re comparing two tools that got the same core thing right: don’t punish you for the number of users who engage.
The difference is what happens after the free tier. Featurebase prices by admin seat — $29, $59, or $99 per seat per month — and it’s grown into a broad support-and-product suite (AI agent, knowledge base, help center) with the feedback board as one part. FeatureWish stays focused on the feedback loop and keeps the whole team free.
This page is the honest comparison — including where Featurebase is the better pick.

Featurebase facts reflect their public plans at the time of writing (June 2026): a free plan plus Growth/Professional/Enterprise at $29/$59/$99 per seat per month, with AI resolutions billed separately (~$0.29 each). Check featurebase.app/pricing for current numbers.
Where the two genuinely agree
Both Featurebase and FeatureWish reject Canny’s tracked-user pricing — the number of people who submit and vote is unlimited and free on both. If your only concern is “I don’t want to pay more as my board gets popular,” either tool solves it. Credit where it’s due: Featurebase pioneered a lot of the modern, clean feedback-board UX that the category now copies.
Where FeatureWish wins
Your whole team is free. This is the real divergence. Featurebase’s paid features are billed per admin seat — every team member you add to triage feedback adds $29–$99/month. FeatureWish gives you unlimited team members at no cost, because we think your support, product, and engineering folks should all be in the feedback, not rationed by license cost.
No metered AI surprises. Featurebase’s AI features bill per resolution (~$0.29 each), which is fine until usage spikes. FeatureWish has no usage meter on the core loop.
Duplicate suggestions, free. As users type a request, FeatureWish surfaces similar existing posts so they upvote instead of reposting — keeping the board clean. Featurebase has a strong AI version of this too, but it’s gated to the paid Growth tier; FeatureWish’s keyword-based version is free.
Voter identity that survives modern browsers. Embedded widgets are third-party, so Safari and Firefox partition or evict their storage — silently breaking voter identity on most tools. FeatureWish runs a first-party token bridge from the host page, so a visitor stays the same voter across visits.
Vote integrity built in. Every vote is stamped with a salted IP hash as a soft abuse signal, and any board can require email verification (high-integrity mode) so your roadmap reflects real demand, not a brigade.
A public portal built for SEO and AI. Your /b/ portal is server-rendered with proper titles, descriptions, and canonical tags — crawlable by Google and readable by AI assistants — and carries a “Powered by FeatureWish” backlink.
What about AI agents and MCP?
Both tools are agent-ready, and that matters more every month: if you build with Claude, Codex, or Cursor, a feedback board your agent can read means it helps you decide what to build, not just how. Featurebase ships a hosted MCP server split into two connectors — a Reader (feedback, conversations, contacts, help center) and a Writer (boards, tags, and other admin resources) — reflecting its breadth as a full support suite.
FeatureWish’s MCP server is narrower on purpose, because the product is: seven scoped tools that cover the feedback loop — list boards and posts, read a request with its full comment thread, pull the roadmap and changelog, file a post, update a status (which emails the voters). One revocable token, one URL, part of the flat $20/month Pro plan — so connecting your agent doesn’t multiply with your team the way per-seat pricing does. Setup snippets live on the MCP server page, and FeatureWish for AI agents walks through the founder workflows: agent triage, votes-vs-effort prioritization against your own codebase, and closing the loop from your editor.
If you’re adopting Featurebase as an all-in support platform, its MCP surface is correspondingly wider. If you want your agent working the feedback loop at a price that never scales with seats, that’s the FeatureWish lane.
Where Featurebase is the better choice
We’d rather you pick the right tool. Choose Featurebase if:
- You want an all-in-one support + product suite. Featurebase bundles an AI support agent, a knowledge base, and a help center alongside feedback. If you’re consolidating support tooling, that breadth is real and FeatureWish doesn’t try to match it.
- You want a mature AI feedback layer today. Their Fibi AI agent, AI replies, and segmentation are further along than ours.
- You need deep SLAs, workflows, and round-robin assignment. Featurebase’s Professional tier is built for larger support orgs.
If you mainly need the feedback loop done well and free for your whole team — boards, voting, roadmap, changelog, embed — that’s exactly FeatureWish’s lane.
Switching is low-risk
The concepts map one-to-one: boards, posts, votes, comments, statuses, roadmap, changelog, widget. Stand up a FeatureWish board, embed it, and point your users at it in an afternoon — and because the free plan is the real product, there’s no clock forcing the decision.
Bottom line
Featurebase is an excellent, broad product — and once you’re past the free tier, you pay per seat for it. If you want the feedback loop without per-seat fees or metered AI, FeatureWish gives you boards, voting, a roadmap, a changelog, and an embeddable widget free, with unlimited team members and unlimited tracked users.
Spin up a board and bring the whole team — no per-seat math.
